Abstract

. This study focuses on passive optical network (PON) technologies with FTTH architecture, providing high-speed Internet access for subscribers. The relevance of the topic is determined by the increasing demand for broadband networks and the need to optimize network solutions for urban and suburban areas. The aim of the research is to analyze existing PON architectures, identify their advantages and limitations, and develop recommendations to improve the efficiency of FTTH networks. The research tasks included studying the theoretical foundations of PON and FTTH, analyzing GPON, EPON, and WDM-PON standards, conducting experimental measurements of optical line parameters, network load modeling, and evaluating data transmission quality. Methods used include analytical and comparative analysis, modeling, testing with OTDR and measurement tools, and review of archival and modern literature. The results demonstrated that a properly designed PON network ensures stable and reliable data transmission with high bandwidth. Analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of various architectures allowed the development of recommendations for network optimization, including network type selection, planning of splits, and monitoring methods. The conclusion confirms that PON FTTH is a promising solution for providing high-speed Internet access, and the research results can be applied both in theoretical studies and in practical design and modernization of optical networks.
